Which Airfix Figure Am I? (#4)

Here's a bod from what I think was the second set of figures I ever owned. I have vague but happy memories of having battles with this lot against some plastic dinosaurs. Who is he?

  1. Tough one. My first thought was one of the Romans but neither the arms nor legs are right. Actually at first I thought the front leg was actually up in the air but now I'm thinking it is just forward which leads me to suspect one of the sword and pistol officers which appeared in the 2 ACW sets and in the early version of the FFL set.

  2. I think it is a DAK soldier. I had some when I was a child, and some 8th army soldiers as well to fight with.
    Panagiotis.

  3. Ancient Britons, shield in the forward arm and spear above. Those sets were $.50 a box when I started buying them at Woolworths.

  4. Look very much like the chariot driver (the one with the plumed helmet) from the Romans set.

  5. PS; Those saxons are bloody lovely. Where did you get the standard?

  6. Sorry chaps, nobody is close so far. It may help to know that the figure is prone...

@Paul: Thanks! The skull standard comes with the Westwind figures.

  7. German WW2 Infantryman, prone with rifle in left hand (I remember modelling this guy as a casualty standing up being thrown back by multiple hits!)

  9. Well done that man! Yes, he's the British Para loading the bazooka (which British paras didn't use).
