The 71 (Glasgow) Light infantry, from the disappointing HaT set, along with some figures from A Call to Arms and a converted Esci bugler.
And one of my favourite British regiments - the 52 Oxfordshire Light Infantry.

Very nice looking figures. I've often been tempted to do small Napoleonic actions, especially after watching a Sharpe movie (!), but you know how it is...so many figures, so little time!

Thanks chaps...I cleverly painted a few hundred figures and based them for a rules system that nobody plays, so my Napoleonics have been on the back burner for a while now. If the period variant of Impetus for battalion-level battles gets written I might get back into them.

ReplyDeleteIMHO, it's a lot of fun. I bought the PDF edition from Sam Mustafa's website a few months ago and gave it a try solo, it's quite simple, but not simplistic. The game puts you in the role of a Divisional General, with full battalion-level tactics at your disposal. You can play a relatively small battle (with 2 or so brigades per side) in under 2 hours, and a big, full-division battle can be done in 3-4 hours, which in my book is great.

ReplyDeleteNice, Dux! I agree with you re. HaT's light infantry although their later Peninsula infantry are up to scratch. I have Revell's rifles figure but not their line infantry as I wanted to make a Peninsula army, not Waterloo. Your flags are very nice, too. Where'd you get them from BTW?

I like the HaT Peninsula set a lot - from the same sculptor who did the Nassau infantry, I think, which have to be some of the nicer 1/72 figures ever made.
